PROFESSOR JOHN ROGERSON It is with sadness that we announce the death of John, a friend of many here at St Mark’s and husband of Rosalind.  You may be aware of John’s recent health issues, but his death was unexpected. Please hold Rosalind in your thoughts and prayers.  A private funeral will be held at Beauchief Abbey with a Memorial Service here at St Mark’s soon afterwards, details to follow.  Sue

CONFIRMATION 26 Sept at 7.30pm here at St Mark’s.  7 candidates from St Mark’s will be presented to Bp Pete on this occasion.  Please do come along to support them and other deanery candidates.  This is an exciting time in the life of the church.  Sue

ST MARK’S CRC Members are invited to a Special General Meeting Sun 16 Sept at 12 noon after the Parish Eucharist in the Upper Room to accept a new constitution as we apply for charitable status. Sue Hobley

PIPER SKETCH The Legacy Project to buy the Piper Sketch is now complete.  The sketch is on display in Graves Art Gallery now. Presentation at St Mark’s on Oct 7 after the Harvest Festival – keep the date free.  Phillip B

SHEFFIELD FOLK FOR GAZA/SIMON’S BIRTHDAY DO Believe it or not Simon Ennals has a birthday in Nov that ends in a ‘0’!! To celebrate we are holding a folk concert on Sat Nov 10 in St Mark’s to raise money for the hospital in Gaza city. More details to follow – save the date! Tanya & Simon
