|THINGS WE’D RATHER NOT THINK ABOUT is the title of a series of Sunday 10.00am sermons and 6.00pm led reflections in which we are taking a fresh look at traditional Advent themes: death, judgement, dying, heaven & hell. These are challenging topics which faith invites us to engage with openly, honestly and hopefully. All welcome.
VOLUNTARIES Today’s voluntaries are both 19th century French works. The piece after the service is a final piece of extravagance before Advent begins.
CTBB BREAKFAST CLUB is going from strength to strength, ably coordinated by Sarah Hall who leaves Sheffield after Easter. To this end, we need to find a replacement. Interested? Please have a word with Ian, Shan or Sue.
CTBB CHRISTMAS CARDS will soon be available. We are looking for volunteers to distribute them to households in Broomhill. Please sign the list at the back of church or speak to the churchwardens or clergy.
CTBB ADVENT LUNCH There will be no lunch here on 9 December as there will be a CTBB shared lunch at 12.15 pm followed by an Advent service at 1.45 pm at St Andrews. We will be taking food down and would like volunteers to cook meat and veggie lasagnes as well as offer salads and bread. Please sign up at the back of church if you can help.
|THURSDAY DISCUSSION GROUP is following the Sermon Series on ‘Things we’d rather not think about’ 11.15 am. All Welcome.
CHOIR PRACTICE FOR ADVENT is in the lounge on Thursdays from 6.00 pm.
HOT STUFF Soup Run is asking for tins of beans and tins of sausages. Also donations of clothing plus bedding would be very gratefully received. Gary.
COFFEE & BISCUITS The introduction of biscuits has been a great success, but the supply needs to be maintained by donations. If you would like to bring a packet of biscuits, please have a word with the people serving coffee, who will be able to tell you whether more are needed at any time. Thank you.
CHURCH GROUNDS Kay Hudson is no longer working as St Mark’s Gardener. If you have any queries about the grounds or would like to volunteer to help look after them, please have a word with Mike Hunt or Ian. Thank you.
