Speakers:Representatives from progressive churches around England including St Mark’s Broomhill

Host:PCN Britain

Cost:£14, (£10 for PCN and CRC members)

Celebrating a 21st Century Faith marks the culmination of a year when PCN Britain has  been thinking about how a progressive faith can be practised in Christian communities. It comes almost exactly ten years after PCN Britain was launched in 2003.

At this conference there will be an opportunity to hear from three churches from Birmingham (The Church at Carrs Lane), Sheffield (St Marks Broomhill) and Exeter (Southernhay URC). In particular we shall be looking at these issues:

1. Thinking articulately and critically about matters of faith – what place for a thoughtful approach to Christian faith and how do we achieve this?

2. Liturgy, prayer and worship – what do our church services look and feel like in a open hearted and progressive Christian community? What resources and ideas can we share?

3. Inclusion What do we mean by being an inclusive church? Are there limits to inclusion? What are the implications of being inclusive?

4. How can we be communities of diverse age range, caring for people \’from cradle to grave\’? What does progressive Christian faith say to children and young people about their formation?

The day will include breakout sessions where you can go into your areas of interest in more depth. We hope that this will be an opportunity for all participants to share and learn more about the ways in which progressive churches undertake their work.

PLEASE NOTE THAT OVER LUNCH THERE WILL BE A SHORT AGM FOR PCN BRITAIN MEMBERS
