|ELECTORAL ROLL 2013 Every six years, we are required to prepare a new Electoral Roll from scratch, rather than simply revise the existing one. Please complete an Application Form and either place it in the designated box in church or give it to Peter Ryder, our Electoral Roll Officer, by 31 March. The Electoral Roll is the membership list of St Mark’s, conferring rights to vote at the Annual Parochial Meeting and to serve on the Parochial Church Council. The size of our Electoral Roll will also determine how many Deanery Synod representatives we are entitled to elect and it is Deanery Synod reps who vote for the Diocese’s delegates on General Synod.
LOOK OUT for Beki Chapman (Reader-in-training) and Alison Creasey (Ordinand) who are undertaking placements at St Mark’s over the coming weeks. Please say hello and help them to feel at home.

OFFERTORY COMMITMENT CARDS For those of you who are members of our Pledged Giving Scheme and give money to the Church regularly via a standing order or other means, the PCC has agreed, initially for a trial period of three months, that small (credit card sized) ‘commitment’ cards will be available for you to put in the collection plate during the offertory. They will say ‘I support God’s work at St Mark’s and in the wider Church directly from my bank account as part of my pledged giving’. We will start using these cards next Sunday and they can be picked up from a box at the back of church before the service. Those who are not pledged givers are encouraged to support the Church through making a cash offering on the collection plate and, if tax payers, by using a yellow Gift Aid envelope. Please supply feedback on the commitment cards to either myself, the clergy or the Church Wardens. Thanks – David Ryder.
