A BIG THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to yesterday’s Garden Party, especially to the organisers Jane Padget and Briony Tayler. It was a splendid effort!

BROOMHILL FESTIVAL CONTINUES There is a wide range of events happening over the next week, including lunchtime music recitals, school events and an opportunity to hear speakers talking about key political, economic and social issues affecting our community. Full details of all of the events can be found in the Festival Brochure so do take copies for your family, friends or work colleagues and we look forward to seeing you there!’

FESTIVAL ART EXHIBITION is now open (15-22 June, 12 noon – 4.00 pm) at the back of church, featuring work by our very own John Brokenshire as well as by James Green, plus contributions from Freeman College and the Academy of Makers. Originals, prints, cards.

THANK YOU to all at St Mark’s who contributed to the Old School sports day.  We made £931! It would not have been possible without St Mark’s help. THANK YOU ALL.  Love Dilys, on behalf of PHASE worldwide.

CONGRATULATIONS to James and Jen Ryder whose daughter, Olive, was born at 7.20am on Friday at 8.267lbs!  A true festive event in a festive fortnight!

CONGRATULATIONS to Tim Gregory on his appointment as Outreach Worker with Children and Young People.  He will also be licensed to the parish as an Honorary Assistant Curate.

SECURITY Recently, the office was broken into – a crime made easier because one of the doors into the upper room was left unlocked.  Users of restricted areas (lounge, upper room, vestry), please take extra care to ensure that all doors are locked before leaving the room unattended. Thank you.

WATCH flyers detailing what you can do to help the journey of women in ministry are available.  Please take some and distribute to other churches.

14 JULY is scheduled to be the day when General Synod, meeting in York, will give final approval (hopefully) to the Women in the Episcopate legislation.

KNOWING ME, KNOWING YOU: The Abba concert, featuring a solo by Anne Padget, is on Sunday 29 June at 4.00 pm in City Hall. We have booked 20 tickets and they are available now, price £12. All are welcome and no preparation is necessary. ‘Sharing our Journey’ is a way of sharing, listening and reflecting on our Life journey together, so just bring yourself. Poster in the Foyer.CATHEDRAL ARCHER PROJECT are putting on 3 fantastic events over the summer.  Tipi Dinner: Thursday 26 June, £40 for a 3 course meal and a glass of wine, plus raffle and bar.  My Sleep Out: Saturday 12 July, have you always wanted to take part in a Sleep Out but never quite had the time to commit? Or would you like a more child-friendly equivalent? Then My Sleep Out is just for you. Sleep Out at the Cathedral: Friday 5 September, this is a unique experience of sleeping out in the centre of Sheffield. Are you up to the challenge?
