HAPPY BRITHDAY to Graham Murray who was 95 on Wednesday 28th January. Many Happy Returns!
MARCUS BORG very sadly died on the 21 January. Marcus was a tremendous scholar and leading voice in Progressive Christianity, as well as Patron of CRC, having been with us from the beginning. A wonderfully kind, humble and generously spirited man, his loss will be greatly felt.

KEY AMNESTY We are reviewing our records of everyone who has a church key. Please can everyone let Anne in the office know ASAP – by e-mail, phone or see me after church – if you have a key, what key(s) you have, and for what purpose. The deadline for this is 22nd February. Many thanks.
BROOMHALL BREAKFAST (Friday 8-10am) is very grateful for all St Marks’ support, including the generous collection of £109.55. We need more volunteers to act as be-frienders – sharing breakfast and conversation. Please have a word with Sue if you’re interested. Thank you!
BROOMHALL YOUTH CLUB COMMITTTEE MEMBERS NEEDED URGENTLY The Friday evening Youth Club (Boys) needs a committed Steering Group to help establish good working practice and raise funds or else this group is likely to close, with far-reaching consequences for young people in Broomhall. I’m looking for 2 or 3 people willing to take the initiative and get this group back on its feet. Youth Workers are in place – we just need an injection of enthusiasm and management skill. Could this be you? Please contact Sue. Support will be provided.
BROOMHILL FESTIVAL We would like to have a ceilidh this Festival, with the band composed of our home-grown talent! Ruth Grimsley’s favourite caller is available on 19th June. Please let Ruth know if you’re interested in taking part.
NEW CONGREGATIONAL LIST We are putting together a brand new Congregational List from scratch. This is NOT the same as the Electoral Roll. It is a contact list for every member of the congregation to be on if they wish to. A copy of it is then made available for everyone who is on that list. If you only want your contact details to be available to the clergy, there is also that option. Please can EVERYBODY who wishes to be on the list (both public and clergy only ones) – fill in a form at the back and put it in the box provided by 22 MARCH. The new list will be out from Easter Sunday.
ST MARK’S PHOTO ALBUM Alongside updating the congregational list, we would like to update our photo album. Please look and see if your photo is in the yellow album which can be found on a table near the chapel and if not, ask me to take one or e-mail one to me at Shan@stmarkssheffield.co.uk. I’m happy to crop it if it includes other people, but this means it needs to be high resolution.
LIBRARY BOOKS If you have any library books that you borrowed more than 3 months ago, please could you return them ASAP. Also, please ensure you have signed out any books you have borrowed! Many thanks.
