CALLING ALL WELCOMERS! Want to meet new (and not-so-new) members of St Mark’s? Our Welcome Teams are a perfect opportunity and we’re looking for new members to join our teams. This is a fun and vital part of our ministry, so if you’re interested please contact Sarah M.

MOTHERING SUNDAY POSIES: will be assembled in church on Saturday 14 March from 2.30pm.   Please let Mary-Jane or Briony know if you can help; no skill required!

CHRISTIAN AID WEEK May 10-16th will soon be upon us. The theme for this year is gender equality, and as a warm-up we are invited to the annual Poverty and Pastries event at Central URC on Sat 14th March, 10.30am-12noon with coffee from 10am. Meet Christian Aid workers and  church organisers and be inspired by their stories. Catch upon the CLIMATE and TAX JUSTICE campaigns. There’ll be ideas for including children and young people. FRIENDSHIP  CLUB Wednesdays at 1.30 p.m. in the church lounge.  11 March: The speaker will be Michael Dowse, Auctioneer.  All welcome.  Modest charge.

SEB’S LEGS I am walking 300 miles of the Camino trail to raise money for my nephew, Sebastian, who has Cerebral Palsy.  He needs a pioneering operation and physio to reduce spasticity in his legs – it is a great chance for him to walk.  Please sponsor me at www.justgiving.com/caminoforsebslegs  Thank you, John Brokenshire.

ISLAM AWARENESS WEEK – CELEBRATION OF FOOD! At 6pm on March18th Abdool and friends will be sharing a feast of flavours from different cultures here at St Mark’s.  Please see flyer – this is a vital time to build relationships with our Muslim sisters and brothers.  Let Anne know for numbers.


PRINCES OF ROCK The next fantastic concert at the City Hall from Chorus UK is rock music choral style! It is on Sunday 29th March at 4.00pm.  Anne Padget, Carol Rowe and Jane Padget are all performing It promises to be a spectacular show as always! Please contact Anne in the office for more details.

BROOMHALL WOMEN Saturday March 21st, 5pm – 8pm at The Broomhall Centre.  Come and celebrate the achievements of the Our Broomhall Project, the Broomhall Centre and the Broomhall Forum as we say farewell to Jennie, Sharon and Linsey who all leave Broomhall at the end of March.  Please take a flyer for more info. NEW CONGREGATIONAL LIST  Please can EVERYBODY who wishes to be on the Congregational List fill in a form at the back and put it in the box by 22 MARCH.  If you only want your details to be available to clergy, there is that option.  The new list will be out from Easter Sunday.
