|BROOMHILL FESTIVAL BEGINS!! THIS WEDNESDAY until Sunday 19th JuneIt is important to remember that a central reason for running this every year is to raise money for charity. We are delighted to support four fantastic charities this year: The Sick Children’s Trust, Bluebell Wood Hospice, PACT and Friends of the Botanical Gardens so there is a strong focus on children this year. Therefore:

FUNDRAISING DINNER FOR ASSIST at 6.00pm on 25 June in Channing Hall, Surrey Street. There will be a glass of wine on arrival, a three course meal, musical interludes, a bar, a raffle and other entertainment. This will be one of the major events of the year for ASSIST. REID HUMBLE’S ORDINATION
Some of St Mark’s congregation will remember Reid Humble. Reid and Charlotte moved to Cambridge so that he could train at Westcott House whilst studying for a PhD. Reid will serve his curacy at Rotherham Minster, and will be ordained deacon at Sheffield Cathedral on 26th June at 10.30am. All welcome. On Saturday 25th June at 4pm, 6 people will be ordained priest, including Lucy Bolster from The Vine, Sheffield and Steve Chapman from the Manor Parish.
|SHEFFIELD UNI WALK FOR REFUGEES – TODAY AT 2PM
A 3 mile walk from Forge Dam cafe back to the University is an attempt to express that the city of Sheffield welcomes refugees and will hopefully be attended by civic and religious leaders. It also offers an opportunity for more of the city to get to know one another. There will be coaches leaving the Arts Tower car park from 1pm taking people to the start point. BISHOP STEVEN leaves the Diocese in the summer to become Bishop of Oxford. If you would like to contribute towards a gift from the Diocese to thank him for his support and friendship, there will be a “bucket collection” TODAY. A farewell service at the Cathedral will take place at 4pm on 17th July.
