MUSIC AT ST MARK’S There is an  advert on the website for the role of Director of Music. Please share with your networks or anyone you know who might be interested. WELCOME TEAMS are looking for new recruits…We know how much people dislike rotas but we get such positive feedback about how good our welcome here is that we really do need some more volunteers if we are to maintain this.  For more information speak to someone on the welcome team, to the clergy or Jean Baxter

PIPER SKETCH The Legacy Project to buy the Piper Sketch is now complete.  The sketch is on display in Graves Art Gallery now. Presentation at St Mark’s on Oct 7 after the Harvest Festival – keep the date free.  Phillip B

PLEA ON BEHALF OF ASSIST Whilst we’re away in Jordan, ASSIST will be using my flat as accommodation for asylum seekers.  Instead of a wedding gift please contribute towards the running costs (bills etc). ST MARK’S CRC Members are invited to a Special General Meeting Sun 16 Sept at 12 Noon after the Parish Eucharist in the Upper Room at St Mark’s to accept a new constitution as we apply for charitable status.

SHEFFIELD FOLK FOR GAZA/SIMON’S BIRTHDAY DO Believe it or not Simon Ennals has a birthday in Nov that ends in a ‘0’!! To celebrate a bunch of excellent local Sheffield musicians are holding a folk concert on Sat Nov 10 in St Mark’s to raise money for the hospital in Gaza city. More details to follow – save the date! LIBRARY NEWS Anam Cara; Spiritual Wisdom From the Celtic World (Category Q) Irish poet & scholar John O’Donohue, sharing his thoughts on the ancient Celtic world, with its reverence for the spirit in all things and where divinity was to be found in rivers, hills, sea and sky. Maureen B
