Growing in faith is the work of a lifetime. At St Mark’s we understand that each individual’s faith journey is unique and we aim to offer opportunities to explore faith that allow plenty of space for questions and discussion – but hopefully also prove to be fun too!
During the year we run courses to enable people to learn more about the Bible and about the Christian faith from different perspectives. Some courses are especially for those who are new to faith but all provide time and space where we can learn from one another.
Over the summer of 2017 a group have been meeting on Thursdays at 5pm to look at the basics of the Christian faith using material from the Pilgrim course. Another ‘explorers group’ is being planned for Autumn 2017 which will use different resources.
The Christian faith is one of relationship – so to grow in faith means allowing ourselves to be open to deepening our relationship with God and with one another. This happens in many different ways, including coming along to Sunday or weekday worship, and through study and personal prayer too – but being alongside others is also important. Helping on the Soup Run or with another social action project are also ways of expressing and growing in faith as we learn what it means in practice to follow Jesus’ teaching to love our neighbour.
