OUR ANNUAL PAROCHIAL CHURCH MEETINGS (APCM) will be held straight after a shortened morning service on Sunday 25 October (at about 11am) and will also be held via Zoom.  The notices which are pinned to the church door may be viewed here and here. Everyone is welcome to join us but only those on the Electoral Roll may vote or stand for PCC.  Please do consider standing for PCC as it is one way of having a voice in how the church makes decisions.  Please talk to either of the churchwardens for more information.  Sue

THANK YOU SO MUCH! I was overwhelmed by the love, care and kindness that surrounded me during my final service at St Mark’s last Sunday. Thank you for the many thoughtful gifts and for the very generous cheque which I hope to spend on a new sofa: every time I sit down to relax, all wrapped up in my prayer shawl, I’ll remember you all! Stephen and Aran would also like to add their thanks for their cards and book tokens. We are truly grateful and have been so blessed by our time at St Mark’s. Please keep in touch if you’d like to – I’m keeping the same mobile phone number (Sarah in the office has it). Sarah C

NEW JOB & MOVING AWAY I’m going to be moving away from Sheffield, to a new job in London. I have a job as a therapist working at Kings College hospital in the major trauma/stroke department. I am very excited about my new job, city and finding a new church family in Bethnal Green. I will always have St Marks in my heart and will miss you all Lots of love Jo Strong My email address is [email protected] and i would love to keep in touch. Jo Strong

4 CORNERS OF ENGLAND We are cycling the 4 corners of England because there’s no better way to get about in this country. We’re raising money so that the young people at Roundabout, can have access to this wonderful way of getting about. Our route takes us from Sheffield to Carlisle to Berwick-upon-Tweed, before turning south down the east coast all the way to Dover, then turning west along the south coast to the tip of Cornwall. You can donate to our fundraising pageChris Ware & Oli Giles

VIRTUAL PILGRIMAGE Sheffield’s Branch of Church action on Poverty. For more than a decade, Sheffield Church Action on Poverty has organised an annual pilgrimage designed to raise awareness and understanding of how poverty is affecting people in Sheffield.

Each pilgrimage has involved a circular walk around a specific area of Sheffield, stopping at different faith-based initiatives which aim to reduce the effects of poverty in the city to hear about their work. Changed circumstances mean that we can’t take you to the initiatives, so we are organising a “Virtual Pilgrimage” to bring the initiatives to you. We’re inviting you to take part by viewing short videos covering the work of several initiatives and then, if you want to ask questions or find out more, take part in a Zoom meeting with project organisers

This year we’ll be visiting Help Us Help, an initiative to help the homeless and rough sleepers, Manor Church and Community Project, Parsons Cross Initiative, PXI, which is celebrating its tenth anniversary, and Attercliffe and Darnall Mission.  Be open to being challenged and changed by what you see and hear by viewing the videos and taking part in the Zoom conference. The videos can be viewed now the playlist can be accessed at: If you wish to attend the Zoom meeting please contact Briony Broome [email protected] Joe Forde

WE ARE PRAYING FOR YOU – Each week during morning and evening prayer, the clergy and pastoral care team pray for each one of you. If you have a specific prayer request for the pastoral care team or for intercessions at services, please let us know by e-mailing [email protected], or by contacting one of the clergy. Specific requests will remain on the intercessory prayer list for 4 weeks. If there is a need for the request to remain in the prayers for longer, please have a conversation with one of the clergy team. Thank you. Shan
