During Advent we are hosting three special services exploring the themes of silence, waiting, and song. Prayer installations will be set up in church. The services which start at 7pm will last about 45 minutes and include a time silence. After the service you are welcome to join us in the pub.

28 Nov            exploring silence (including a time of sharing)

5 Dec              exploring waiting (Including communion)

12 Dec            exploring song (Taizé)

The first service on the 28 Nov will include a time of sharing about what silence means to us and how being in silence helps us to connect with God. You are welcome to bring along something to share; this could be some words, a poem, an image, or an experience you have had. Within the service there will be an opportunity to share this with others, or to listen to what others have brought along.

LLF FOCUS GROUP – Did you participate or facilitate an LLF Course in the Mission Area? CHANGE OF VENUE As part of the national evaluation of LLF, Church Army’s Research Unit (CARU) have been commissioned to research the experience of those who have participated in or completed the LLF course. CARU will be hosting focus groups across the country in Spring 2022 but we need your help in making sure the groups provide an important insight into the experience of being part of a course. Lu Skerratt-Love and John Tomlinson are the lead researchers on this project and are hosting a pilot focus group on Wednesday 1st December from 7-9pm at Wilson Carlile Centre, 50 Cavendish Street, Sheffield S3 7RZ. We would love for a small group to attend so we can hear your views. If you’d like to know more or are interested in participating, email Lu at [email protected]

ADVENT WINDOWS – We’re wondering whether it’s possible to do Advent Windows again this year. Lots of people who took part last year have had a change in circumstances (lovely new babies, moved house etc.) so we would need new people to take part. Let me know if you’re interested! Jen Ryder
