Reading between the cracks: women in the Pauline communities
The study session will be followed at 6.30 pm by a Eucharist at St John’s in celebration of the contribution of women to the ministry of the whole people of God.
St Paul has a poor reputation for his attitude to women in ministry but when you read his letters more carefully you can find lots of evidence for women in ministry in the Pauline communities some even in positions of significant leadership. How are we meant to understand Paul’s attitude to women in the light of all of this?
