This year’s Lent groups, Practising Hopefulness, will start in the week after the first Sunday in Lent, (week beginning 26 February) and will run for five weeks, finishing the week before Holy Week. This is a practical course drawing on personal experience and insights from the ministry of Jesus.
Last year’s Lent course, The Practice of Paradise, finished by considering what the community of paradise might look like. This year takes up this theme by focusing on the characteristics of a Christian community of paradise. If that sounds ethereal and unrealistic, the themes of the sessions are very down to earth:
Last year a lot of people clearly got a great deal out the Lent Course, so please join in and sign up for a group in church or contact the church office: 0114 266 3613 office@stmarkssheffield.co.uk.
Since we are in lockdown we are not currently holding services in the building; however we are open for Private Prayer, if you’d like to book please see this page for more info or contact the office.
If you would like to support St. Marks please visit our giving page.
CRCOnline
CRCOnline supported by the Jim Cotter Trust, provides theological, liturgical and spiritual resources for anyone who wants to live with the questions rather than being told definitive answers; to be rooted in the life, work and radical values of Jesus of Nazareth; to celebrate the diversity of the Jesus community and to engage with issues using the discourses of the contemporary world.
