SOUTH SUDAN AND EAST AFRICA FAMINE APPEAL Thanks to all who have contributed towards this, we have been able to send to Christian Aid £874.40, which will hopefully be in time to attract matched funding from the government. 100 YEARS YOUNG! Nellie Alker, Adrian’s mother, will be 100 years old on 26 April. Since this is a Wednesday Nellie will be at St Mark’s Lunch Club where we shall celebrate with cake and a drink. Rosalind has kindly said that if anyone would like to drop in to share that celebration at about 1pm they will be welcome although it would be helpful to let Rosalind know in advance. JULIAN PRAYER GROUP The silent prayer group has grown steadily in numbers since starting in January. We meet every Monday night from 6.30-7.15pm in the Chapel but not on Bank Holiday Mondays ie we will meet on the 10th but not on the 17th April. New members are always welcome, no regular commitment needed.
CHRISTIAN AID WEEK this year is May 14-20th, which will soon be upon us! Many thanks to those who have already agreed to help with the house to house collection in the parish. This is a good way to witness to our commitment, as Christians and as members of St. Mark’s, to supporting the poorest communities in God’s world. |APCM The Annual Parochial Church Meetings will take place on SUNDAY 23 APRIL at 11.15am after a shorter 10.00am Eucharist. These will be followed by a Bring & Share Lunch, to which all are welcome. 2 Management support for the Homework Club, to include recruitment and light supervision of a new worker, updating our policies especially around safeguarding, meeting with a “reference group” (from volunteers, parents and older children) once a term to reflect on any problems and develop new ideas.
