Weekly Notices – 11th November 2018

THEY SHALL NOT GROW OLD is an astonishing film made by Peter Walker to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Armistice. It consists entirely of contemporary film footage and cartoons of the preparations for war and life in the trenches, but beautifully colourised so that the individuals really come alive in a new way. The commentary is entirely in the voices of veterans of WW1. Showing TONIGHT on BBC2 at 9.30pm. (Not suitable for children under 15). Janet Morley
