LENT 2019

LENT SERMON SERIES During Lent our readings and sermon reflect the themes of the Lent course.  Next Sunday Revd Canon Nick Jowett will be preaching on ‘Challenging Poverty’.

LENT LUNCHES are taking place today, 24 March & 7 April. TODAY’s hosts are International Donations Group, talk about SUCCOL. 24 March hosts are Home Donations Group, talk about Church Action on Poverty. 7 April to be confirmed. Donations to the charities welcomed.


BOOKS ON CLIMATE CHANGE TODAY There is a display of books on climate  after the 10 am service, both from the library and personal copies. Members of the Environmental Group will be there to advise. Michael Bayley

ST MARK’S FINANCES  Our target is £10k and we have had £6k promised so far.  Thank you to all who have returned pledge forms.  Unfortunately we have lost some generous regular givers this year so we still have some way to go to cover our costs.  The CofE suggests that we give 5% of our annual income to the church. ELECTORAL ROLL A new Electoral Roll is to be created at the end of March.  Please note that this is a full new roll and not just a revision.  Everybody who was previously on the old roll will now have to complete a new form if they wish to be added back on to the roll.  Please complete an electoral roll form and return it to Peter Ryder by Sunday 31 March.
