ROY GODDEN’S FUNERAL will take place in church on Friday, 2 November at 2.30 pm. He has contributed so much to the life of this community over many years and will be greatly missed. Please hold Doreen and all who grieve for Roy in your thoughts and prayers. Sue/Sarah/Shan

SHEFFIELD FOLK FOR GAZA/SIMON’S BIRTHDAY DO Believe it or not Simon Ennals has a birthday in Nov that ends in a ‘0’!! To celebrate this a bunch of excellent local Sheffield musicians will be holding a folk concert on Saturday November 10 in St Marks Church to raise money for the hospital in Gaza city. Tickets £10 in advance from Simon and Tanya today in church or on Eventbrite (or £12 on the door).

FRAGMENTS OF WAR will be performed at Sheffield College (8 Nov), Kelham Island Museum (15 Nov) and St Marys Church Walkley (16 Nov). For each ticket sold the company will make a contribution to “British Red Cross” to recognise their efforts during the war. DIRECTOR OF MUSIC We are delighted to announce the appointment of David Willington as Director of Music and Organist.  David has a breadth of skills and musical experience to share and we are encouraging him to take a creative look at how we might develop musically.  We look forward to him starting at the beginning of November.  Sue/Sarah/Shan

ASSIST NIGHT SHELTER Do you know anyone who could help with the ASSIST night shelter one or two nights a month. They are urgently in need of more volunteers to keep the shelter open and prevent destitute asylum seekers from having to sleep on the streets. Contact volunteer@assistsheffield.org.uk
