NIGHT SERVICE SPECIAL EVENT – ALL WELCOME NEXT SUNDAY 6:30pm Bring and Share Meal. Family and friends welcome followed by Taizé service at 8pm for those who would like to stay. PENTECOST As usual, we shall be worshipping with our ecumenical partners in CTBB. This year the service will be at Beacon in Broomhill Methodist Church, on 24 May at 10.30 am (nb later time), followed by a Bring & Share lunch. There will be no 10am service here. FRIENDSHIP CLUB Wednesdays at 1.30pm in the church lounge. 13 May: “Sounds Interesting”: musical instruments you may not have met before…All welcome. Modest charge. The Climate Coalition is organising a lobby of the new Parliament on Weds17th June, entitled “Speak Up For the Love of..” Ecumenical service at 12noon, lobbying constituency MPs 1-4pm. BROOMHILL FESTIVAL 5 – 21 June 2015 The brochure will be out for this year’s Broomhill Festival from next Sunday. As ever we will be celebrating community and raising money for charity with a whole range of events from musical concerts, interesting talks, Shakespearean drama and even a Mad Hatter’s Buffet! AND On Saturday 11th July at 2.30pm Rosamund Brown, daughter of Alan and Judith, will be marrying Jan Ragnar Storheim at St Mark’s. Both live and work in Oslo, Norway but are looking forward to marrying in Rosamund’s childhood church. A warm welcome to all! MUSICIANS: ST MARK’S NEEDS YOU! Do you sing in the shower? How would you like to sing in St Mark’s Choir instead? We rehearse weekly on Thursdays, 6.30-8pm to prepare for our contributions to Sunday morning worship. Do you play an instrument? FROM MAGNA CARTA TO THE HUMAN RIGHTS ACT At the Broomhill Festival on Wednesday, 10 June 2015 at 7.30p.m. David Price and Steve Eccleston will give an illustrated talk on the 800-year-old legacy of Magna Carta. This event is organised by the Sheffield Amnesty International Group. Proceeds from a retiring collection will go towards the Broomhill Festival charities and Amnesty International.
