SUPPORT SMALL-SCALE FARMERS IN AFRICA. There will be an opportunity next week (Sun 22) to send a postcard to local MPs about the disastrous New Alliance for Food Security. The European parliament’s review of this scheme, which receives £600m of UK aid money, finds that it benefits big business at the expense of local farmers. The scheme would increase smallholder dependency, risk indebtedness and leave communities vulnerable to land grabs. Look out next week for the posters at the back of church and send a card to your MP. Helen Hillman
