BROOMHILL FESTIVAL I would personally like to thank Jane as Chair of the Festival Committee, for all the work she has put into preparing for and running this year’s Festival, along with the Festival Administrator, Kathie, the Committee and all the volunteers who have worked so hard.  Thank you!  SueFESTIVAL UPDATE We hope to have a figure for how much has been raised during the festival very shortly.  In the meantime what we can say is that the gross amount for the Garden Party alone is just over £2400!  Well done to everyone and thank you so much for your help.  Jane Padget

CRC SEMINAR AND LIBRARY EVENING THIS WEDNESDAY 6.30pm Imogen Clout will be talking about her book, More Places at the Table, written with John Rogerson.  Imogen is an experienced lawyer and the evening will look at approaches to family life in the contemporary world. John Schofield

INVITATION TO ALL to the re-launch of the INTERNATIONAL FELLOWSHIP THIS FRIDAY at 6.30pm on St. Mark’s green, or in the church lounge if wet. Please bring some food to share, and if possible something to sit on and ideas for what you’d like to do at any future meetings. There’ll be some games to join in with, and lots of friendly chat. ROY AND BERYL BARRY Many of you will know that Roy and Beryl Barry are moving away from Sheffield soon. We are hoping to be able to say our farewells on Sunday 10th July.A card is available to sign at the back of church. They don’t want leaving gifts, so we have suggested that there’s a retiring collection on the 10th to raise money for a charity which Roy helped set up, the Development Education Centre South Yorkshire www.decsy.org.ukSue and Sarah C

NADIA BOLZ-WEBER, Lutheran pastor, author and passionate advocate of inclusivity, from Colorado, will be speaking here at St Mark’s on her whistle-stop tour of the UK.  Tickets are free but essential AND ARE GOING FAST.  Thursday 1 September, 7:00pm for 7.30pm. SHEFFIELD PRIDE – 30 JULY at Endcliffe Park, 12noon 7.00pm.  St. Mark’s will have a stall here and it promises to be a great day.  In the light of the recent atrocity in Orlando it is even more important to show our solidarity with people who often find themselves the target of abuse.  Sibylle Batten and Anne Padget


SHAN’S SABBATICAL In order to re-evaluate my working pattern and make time to undertake some further education, from mid July I will being taking a 3 month sabbatical. I will still worship at St Mark’s but will be more evident in the pews than up front. My thanks go especially to Sue and  Sarah for enabling me to take this time. Shan

RISE OF THE HEROES is the next fantastic concert by Chorus UK at the City Hall on Sunday 3rd July at 3.00pm.  For those of you who saw Chorus UK during the Broomhill Festival you will know how high the standard is of this community choir.  Flyers are at the back of church.  Please see Anne Padget, Jane Padget or Carol Rowe, who all sing in the choir, for more details.  Anne Padget 

SHEFFIELD SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA is celebrating its 60th anniversary with a fun family concert for everyone, featuring well loved dance music.  Many of the pieces will be accompanied by a live dance  performance.
