ERKIN, the refugee who was staying in Sheffield and attending St. Mark’s, took Biology, Chemistry and Physics A-levels and obtained A, B, C (not bad in his fourth language!). He is going to Lincoln University to read Pharmacy. He likes Sheffield, so he’ll be back! David Sanderson

|MARK McCOMBS – will be on sabbatical for October and November, back for Christmas and then off again for January. We wish him every success as he concentrates on his studies. We welcome Fraser Wilson as his stand-in during this time. SueANNE PADGET has been given the opportunity to develop her creativity with Chorus UK and so has resigned from her post as Church Administrator from the end of October. We wish her every success in her future career! In the meantime, while we recruit her replacement, we will need some voluntary support in the church office. READING THE STORY is a monthly group to hear key stories of the Old Testament and explore their impact on us and our culture. The next session, on Friday 14 October in the upper room, will be about the first seven chapters of the book of 1 Samuel (Eli, Hannah, the boy Samuel and the Ark of the Covenant).
