JOB ADVERT: FEMALE YOUTH WORKER WANTED for up to 8 hours per week to run a Youth Club for girls in Broomhall, Sheffield. The club is run by ‘Churches Together in Broomhill and Broomhall’, although there is no requirement that the worker is a practising Christian.  Many of those attending are Muslim girls from the Somali community and it is an occupational requirement that the person appointed is female. Empathy with older people, their relatives and carers is vital, as is sympathy with the Christian faith and an awareness of the spiritual needs of people of all faiths and none. LENT 2016 Thank you to everyone who is to host or lead a group this year. The sign-up sheets are at the back of church.  The course is based around Rowan Williams’ accessible commentary “Meeting God in Mark” and it is recommended that participants either buy a copy or borrow one from the library.  Please note on the sheet if you would like to buy one for the reduced price of £7.00.  Although the book is the basis of the course there is a real emphasis this year on sharing our own connection with Mark’s Gospel so please don’t be put off if you don’t have much appetite for reading.
