PENTECOST As usual, we shall be worshipping with our ecumenical partners in CTBB. This year the service will be at Beacon in Broomhill Methodist Church, Fulwood Road on 24 May at 10.30 am (nb later time). This will be followed by a Bring & Share lunch and there will be no 10am Service here that day.
ASCENSION DAY This year the Ascension Day service on Thursday 14th May will be at 10.30am NOT in the eve. All are welcome to attend.
NIGHT SERVICE SPECIAL EVENTS – ALL WELCOME Sunday 10th May, 6:30pm. Seminar with Mark Newitt on how to lead worship. You are quite welcome to bring your picnic tea if you wish to stay on for Night Service.
Sunday 17th May, 6:30pm Bring and Share Meal. Family and friends welcome followed by Taizé service at 8pm for those who would like to stay. More details of both events on www.nightservice.org.uk

CHRISTIAN AID SUNDAY LUNCH May 10th: Everyone welcome to lunch to raise money for Christian Aid and learn more about this year’s appeal.
UNDECIDED VOTERS The Joseph Rowntree Trust have a website called “Vote for Policies” which might help you decide which way to vote. The questions cover 10 topics, and for each you are given 5 sets of policies to choose from, without being told which party proposes them. At the end you get a party profile matching your selection. If you cover all 10 topics it takes about 50 minutes to complete. http://voteforpolicies.org.uk/
MUSICIANS: ST MARK’S NEEDS YOU! Do you sing in the shower? How would you like to sing in St Mark’s Choir instead? We rehearse weekly on Thursdays, 6.30-8pm to prepare for our contributions to Sunday morning worship. Do you play an instrument? How would you like to lead the music at a Sunday morning Service or a Night Service? St Mark’s is looking to hear more and more from our talented congregation, and to get all of our musicians involved! NEW PUBLICATION John Wood has produced a booklet which is on sale for a £1.00 at the back of the Church. This is entitled ‘John Wood looks at the Bible’ and includes the sermon he preached at St Mark’s on his 90th birthday. He hopes the contents will be of interest to friends at St Mark’ s and hopefully intends to publish 5 other booklets in the series.
NEPAL There is a PHASE collection this week at the back of church for the people of Nepal following the earthquake. There are also GiftAid forms. Please fill one in if you are a taxpayer, meaning an extra 25% on top of your donation can be claimed.
