Weekly Update – 6th October 2013

PHOTO ALBUM Shan has produced a wonderful photo album of our church community.  But is it complete?  Please check whether you photo is in it and, if not, read on…

OCTOBER is ‘Getting to know one another’ month when we are invited to meet new members, relearn the names of existing ones we’ve forgotten and introduce ourselves to those we’ve never found opportunity to talk to before.  To help with all this, please wear a Name Badge (labels and pens in the pews and at the back) and try our October Challenge to find (i) someone at St Mark’s who was born in the same month as you and (ii) someone whose photo is not in the church album and, with their permission, to take a shot and email it to Shan. (i) and (ii) don’t need to be the same person!

THANK YOU to everyone who contributed to our Anniversary celebrations last weekend.  From the book launch on Friday through the concert on Saturday to the Festive Eucharist and lunch alfresco on Sunday, it was a wonderful time of thanksgiving, joy and blessing.

AS USUAL, we will be supporting the Archer Project Harvest Appeal at our Festival service TODAY and are receiving items until 13 October.  (Our normal ‘Food Bank’ collection will be suspended during this time.)  A full list of what is needed is posted by the collection bin in the foyer.
