FAREWELL to Alison Creasey who completes her placement from the Yorkshire Ministry Course with us today. Over the past weeks, she has thrown herself into the life of St Mark’s and been a blessing to many of us. We offer Alison our thanks, prayers and good wishes for her future ministry.
VACANCY Following Jen Ryder’s decision to vacate the position, we are looking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced person to coordinate our work with students and young adults. 400 PARTS PER MILLION of CO2. For the first time in human history the concentration of Carbon Dioxide has passed 400 parts per million. This means the world is most likely committed to an increase in surface temperature of 3oc – 5oc compared to the pre-industrial era. This would have catastrophic consequences. MICHAEL PATON, former vicar of St Mark’s, is now living at Manormead Care Home, Tilford Road, Hindhead, Surrey, GU26 6RA. A few of us visited him recently and feel he would much appreciate the occasional card from anyone who would like to make contact.
DARNALL DEMENTIA AWARENESS GROUP are running a training event at on Friday June 21st from 10 a.m – 12.30 p.m. St. Columba’s Church, 503, Manchester Road, Crosspool. This workshop is ideal for friends, carers and family members of people with dementia, or for anyone who wants to understand dementia better. There is no charge, but places are limited.
