Marriage and Civil Partnerships
Congratulations!
Entering into a life-long commitment with your partner is exciting. We’d love to discuss with you how we might accompany you in your preparations and as you take your next steps of trust and faithfulness.
Currently the Church of England defines marriage as being between one man and one woman. St Mark’s is bound by this definition, but we welcome enquiries from same sex couples who would like their commitment blessed and affirmed, possibly following a civil partnership or marriage at a registry office, or in a church of another denomination.
You do not need to be baptised or to attend church in order to be married at St Mark’s and people who have been married before and are legally divorced can also apply, but you do need a relevant connection. There is a list of qualifying connections here.
To see if you live within our parish boundaries check here.
It can seem a bit complicated and we are more than happy to talk this through with you. A conversation is often the best way forward so do contact us.
