Students and Young Adults

St. Mark’s has a lively young adults group including students at both Sheffield Universities, young professionals, and anybody else who is looking for a safe inclusive space. We are a self led group primarily compromised of 18-30ish year olds and are committed to LGBTQ+ equality, social justice and exploring our faith journeys together. We welcome students, non students and graduates.

We are a part of the wider St Mark’s community and are involved in lots of different aspects of church life. Some young adults attend the 10am Sunday service, others attend Night Service or Open Communion. Other young adults are also part of different churches or denominations. Some people come every week, others as and when they want to. There is no pressure and whoever you are or wherever you’re at, you’re very welcome.

We have an WhatsApp group that you can join to find out what we are doing and when we meet up.

The group is affiliated with the national organisation Student Christian Movement, which is the main voice and space for progressive Christian students in the UK. SCM’s work is focused around the key aims of creating community, deepening faith, seeking justice and celebrating diversity, and we at St Marks share this vision and are proud to be a part of this national movement of progressive and action-based faith.
